BJJ elbow pain is quite common as we are constantly squeezing and gripping.
This movement of squeezing and pulling people into you or you into them is a fundamental of the sport.
As such the elbows are always being flexed, causing a lot of tightness into the forearms and hands and all the way up this front line of the body.
This contributes to BJJ forearm pain along with the elbow pain.
We have to go into where it hurts on these movements, but rather than just stretching we use some active contraction to help facilitate the movement, aka mobility training!
This elbow mobility exercise is also good if you have elbow tendonitis as we are bringing a lot of awareness and activation to this area, which are the biggest steps to promoting bloodflow and eventually healing!
